WCD Agricultural Management: Consulting, Tallow, and Farm Products
A message from Emilee
I am a passionate agriculture advocate who grew up as a fourth-generation farmer. I run my consulting business, WCD Agricultural Management. My work includes raising goats for meat and breeding, producing goat and beef tallow body cream products, advocating and speaking about agriculture, social media management, and photography. I consult with landowners, farmers, ranchers, and those aspiring to own land or grow their own food. Mentoring interns who work in my business gives me the chance to give back and help grow our future leaders. I also create and manage social media for my business, organizations I am a part of, and other agriculture businesses.
Alongside my ranch, farm, and homestead consulting work, I run a replacement goat and meat goat business. Replacement doe and billy kids are available for sale throughout the year. I sell goat meat from Boer cross goats that are fed out. All meat is USDA and state inspected and packaged by a USDA-certified processing plant. Cuts include leg steaks, arm steaks, loin chops, roasts, ground meat, and stew meat. I also offer beef and goat natural organ dog treats.
Speaking to audiences of all ages about advocating for agriculture, the importance of agriculture in our world, and leadership has been a great blessing in my life. Some would say I am a woman of all trades. I enjoy having a hat full of skills and talents that allow me to do many things—from livestock and ranch management, speaking, and photography to office work and beyond.
Being a mom to four-legged goats and horses fills my world with joy. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, being part of the National American CattleWomen and Texas Farm Bureau organizations, training horses, working cattle, working toward future plans, and serving others. I have spent my entire life around agriculture and love protecting our animals and land so they will be around for generations to come. From a young age, growing up on a farm, I knew my life would revolve around agriculture. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in animal production and meat science.
Throughout my career, I have worked managing ranches, doctoring cattle in feed yards, caring for pigs, working with cutting horse trainers, working at veterinary clinics, managing land and planting crops, creating social media content and copy, and working in many other areas of agriculture. Being an advocate for agriculture is my purpose in life. Through my daily work farming and ranching, I understand the importance of sharing how agriculture affects each of us every day. We need reliable sources and passionate individuals to be a voice for the industry that feeds us, clothes us, and keeps us alive.
Once I came across FarmKeep, an app a friend was using, I became very interested in learning about what the app offered. I had a feeling it would be an answer to prayers. It has been!
What I like most about the app is that I can use it on my phone anywhere. I can keep track of my expenses, income, all the animals I have, input production of products I sell, input records for the animals, see a rate of gain on my animals (and not have to do that by hand like I have always done it), keep track of breeding dates and who is mated to who, and see gestation times. I use almost of all of the options on the app with my business and operation. While the app does not have all features I could use in my operation, it is improving everyday and the designers take suggestions. The app is growing and has new features always, that come from suggestions of the users. This is awesome!
Ranching, animals, and farming are my way of life. I want to continue bringing farmers and ranchers together and sharing with those new to agriculture what this way of life is about. In agriculture, we build products, businesses, and—most importantly—family and friendship relationships that last. I support an industry that prioritizes my family, my community, and my health. Agriculture is the backbone of our world and of the United States. Without it, we would not survive. I am blessed to be an educator and protector of God’s land and creatures.
